1st Thursday of the Month

The business meeting is more than just, well, a business meeting.  Its a place to meet people, to find out what's going on in the Province, to share ideas, and to volunteer!  Drop by and find out what's new and upcoming, make a new friend, and make your voice heard!

In-School and other Educational Demos.

Dates and times vary.

Demos evoke the heart and soul of the educational mission of the SCA.  To schoolchildren, we are not modern people dressed up in funny clothes - instead, we truly are the people we pretend to be - people from another time and place, come forward in time to tell the truth about our lives.  You don't have to be an expert to participate in these demos - you just need to be reasonably comfortable standing or speaking in front of large groups, enthusiastic, and willing to share what you know.

Armored Combat and Period Rapier Combat Practice.

Every Tuesday

Every Tuesday from 6:00 - 9:00 PM there is a practice held at the USM Sullivan Gym in Portland, in conjunction with the USM Blade Society. (Click here for a map of this location.) When weather (and mud!) permit, this practice may move outside to the 'quad' area of the campus.

Medieval and Renaissance Dance Practice.

3rd Thursday of the Month

7:30 pm - Acorn Productions - Dana Warp Mill, Westbrook, ME

DisSonata's & Malagentian Musician's Guild Practice.

Every Monday

Trinity Episcopal Church, US Route 1, Saco, and other locations
Weekly session of playing and singing Renaissance and early Baroque music.  A hearty welcome is extended to anyone with even a scrap of musical talent, instrumental or vocal, who would be interested in joining amerry band of minstrels.  If you don't have a favorite instrument to bring, but want to check out what we're is all about, c'mon over anyway!

Instrumental practices with the band are held on Mondays, as are bi-weekly vocal practices which focus on singing & chorales.  All practices run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Creativity Night.

Every Wednesday

6:00 pm - Private Home in Saco (location may vary)
Come be creative!  We encourage people to bring it all: sewing, embroidery, whatever portable craft suits your fancy.  This is not an evening of 'classes', but rather an open A&S forum and an excuse to get work done while spending an evening with fellow A&S addicts and people who wish to learn a new skill.

Archery Practice.

Every Wednesday - in warmer months

5:30 pm - Private home in Waterboro
An SCA official Archery Practice will be held on Wednesday evenings throughout the Summer at a private home in Waterboro. An archery marshal will be present. The grill is lit at dusk. Look for weekly schedule announcements on the unofficial Malagentia email list, or contact Max & Mickel for confirmation, directions, etc. at (207) 590-6717.

Scribal Classes.

2nd and 4th Thursdays

7:00 PM - Private home in Westbrook
Mistress Carolyne de la Pointe will be holding calligraphy and illumination classes at her home in Westbrook. The second Thursday of the month will be for illumination, the fourth Thursday for calligraphy. Please contact Carolyne for more information.
